Paro Town Bhutan is located at an elevation of 2280m, on the bank of the Paro river. Paro town was first established in 1985 with traditional Bhutanese houses with one main street and road. Paro got only an international Aiport which is nearly 4 km from Paro Town. Latter on main Paro town was converted into concrete buildings with a modernization look. Few traditional looks of houses are still there with the additional inner road.
Paro is the most beautiful with enough space and beauty with the awesome landscape. Paro Town Bhutan explores good sightseeing places in Bhutan. It is very near to the Tibetan border. Olden days there was a history of invasion by Tibetan soldiers frequently and Drukgyel Dzong was built to protect from invaders.
The seat of district administration and monastic body is located inside the Rinpung Dzong. The Rinpung Dzong is the best sightseeing place in Paro. The famous Little Buddha was shot around Rinpung Dzong.
The Dumtseg Lhakhang was established during the 15th-century. It is very near to Paro Town Bhutan. It is walkable from the town.
Ugyen Perli Palace is very near Paro Town. Members of the royal family stay in the palace when they are in Paro. Ugyen Perli Palace can be seen from Rinpung Dzong but officially tourists are not allowed to visit. It is open only during the occasional period. Ugyen Perli Palace is also meant for high dignitaries to visit and hoisting their lunch or dinner.
Taksang Paro Bhutan is about 10 kilometers outside Paro town Bhutan. Paro Taktsang Bhutan (Tiger’s Nest) is a Buddhist monastery and sacred place for Buddhists to visit. Some Bhutanese believe that Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche) flew on the back of a tigress to this location from Tibet. The trek to Taksang Paro Bhutan takes about three hours one way and one hour downhill trek. A scenic view of the town of Paro can be seen from the Taksang Paro Bhutan.
Drukgyel Dzong Paro is another best place to visit the place. It is very near to Taksang Paro. It was partly destroyed by fire in 1951. It is now UNESCO hertige site. Drukgyel Dzong Paro is the unique fortress that was built to protect the Paro Valley from invaders from Tibet. Drukgyel Dzong Paro suited strategic location on the top of the hillock got specialty of enough storage of grains and water tank facility.
Paro Airport only international airport in Bhutan has been described as “the most difficult airport in the world”. The airport has only one runway. Airplanes on approach pass by 5,500m Himalayan mountain peaks, and the 1,980m runway length presents a double challenge, due to the extremely high-density altitude at the site. As a result, only a handful of airline pilots (8 as of December 2014) are certified to operate commercial airplanes there. About 30,000 persons arrive at the airport each year.
