Sangaygang View Point Thimphu

Sangaygang View Point Thimphu is located just 6-7 Km from the main town of Thimphu. Local people name as BBS Tower or Sangaygang. The viewpoint is at an elevation of 2685 m, which offers a panoramic view of Thimphu city. Sangaygang viewpoint Thimphu is best for enjoying the morning and evening walks. Moreover, you will find a mini Gym before you climb uphill. During evening hours you can enjoy the sunset and you can see the beauty of the light of the whole city.

You can enter the premises but you can hike a little above and find the biking trail and offer prayer flags. It was initially constructed to improve television and radio signals in the region. Now it has become a popular tourist spot due to its elevated position and stunning vistas around the surrounding areas.

Hiking:

While some visitors drive to the viewpoint of the BBS tower area many others choose to hike up the hill. You can hike to the Phajoding monastery. You can take an easy hike towards the biking trail leading to Wangditse Lhakhang and Phajoding Buddhist Learning Center. There are hiking trails that lead to Sangaygang Viewpoint, offering a chance to enjoy the natural surroundings and local flora and fauna.

Sunset:

Takin the national animal of Bhutan is preserved in Takin Mini Zoo in Thimphu. It is very near to Sangaygang’s View Point Thimphu. Whenever tourists want to visit View Point they will drive to Takin Mini Zoo.

Biking Trail

It is beautiful if you are a biking lover and want to do mountain biking till Sangaygang View Point Thimphu. From there you can take an off-road biking trail to Wangditse Lhakhang, which is facing Dechenphodrang. From there you can take downhill till Dechenphodrang.

Hiking to Pajoding

Hike to Phajoding is above Sangaygang’s viewpoint. It takes nearly 3 hours to reach and you can get into Phajoding Monastery if you are more on nature and lakes you can visit the monastery. Hiking to Phajoding will be a day program and if you want to fix up a tent you can do it. Phajoding hike is a beautiful landscape to view the beautiful valley of Thimphu. Druk Pth trek ends here for the last day of the campsite or 1st site for the Camp if you are starting from Thimphu.
