Day One – Arrival Paro (2200 m)
On arrival at Paro International Airport by Druk Air flight or Bhutan Airlines for the 4 Nights 5 Days Bhutan tour package. Our representatives from Bhutan Himalayan Holidays will be there to receive you with “Tashi Khada,” the traditional way of receiving our guests. Check into hotel 3 star.

The first day’s visit will be to Ta Dzong, a fortress built in 1656 and renovated in 1968. The watchtower was converted into the National Museum of Bhutan. Below the National Museum is the Paro Rinpung Dzong (literally meaning “Heap of Jewels”), which was built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyel (founder of Bhutan). The fortress is the administrative and religious house for the Paro district. A short car drive will take you to the base of the Rinpung Dzong and across a traditional cantilever bridge. Day Two—Paro Taksang Day Hike

The round trip is 3-4 hrs. The trail climbs through beautiful pine & rhododendron forest. Most of the trees are covered with moss and lichens. You can smell clean air and hear the fluttering of prayer flags. You will stop for a rest and light refreshments of tea and snacks at the Taktsang cafeteria. The viewpoint will provide you with good photography of Paro Taksang on the granite rock. The Tiger Nest on the granite rock cliff is located 900 meters above the Paro Valley (2200 m). Drukgyel Dzong
Visit Drugyel Dzong, ‘Bhutan’s victory fort,’ overlooking the traditional beautiful village with Mount Jumolhari in the background. Now it is under renovation.
Kichu Lhakhang
Visit Kichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest monasteries in Bhutan. The Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo in the 7th century miraculously built 108 temples. Kichu is considered to be one of the sacred temples in Bhutan.
Drive to Thimphu
The second-day tour 4 Nights 5 Days Bhutan tour package, ends with a drive to Thimphu (2350 m), which takes nearly a 1 1/2-hour car drive. On the way, you will be passing through traditional Bhutanese houses. Bhutanese farmhouses are colorful, decorative, and traditionally built without any nails or iron bars. Day Three—Thimphu (Sightseeing)

After breakfast, sightseeing in the Thimphu valley, starting with a visit to the National Memorial Chorten (1974), built in honor of our late king, Jigme Dorji Wangchuk. Visit the gigantic Buddha statue, 169 feet, in Thimphu. Visit Changangkha Monastery: (This monastery was built in the 15th century by the Lama Phajo Drugom Zhipo, where the newborn child of the Thimphu Valley is taken to receive the 1st blessing from a high lama.) You will be visiting the mini zoo, where the takin (our national animal of Bhutan) lives. Drive to Sangaygang, where you can see a view of the Thimphu Valley. Visit the National Library, Folk Heritage Museum, Indigenous Hospital, and painting school.
Afternoon Thimphu sightseeing
After lunch, visit Dupthop Lhakhang, one of the few surviving nunneries in Bhutan. Other highlights include a visit to the Tashichho Dzong, seat of the national government and the Central Monastic Body, including the summer residence of the Je Khenpo (chief abbot of Bhutan).
Visit the Sunday market (if the day falls on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) of Thimphu (the Farmers’ Centenary Market). Cross the traditional wooden bridge; there you’ll see handicrafts. Witness the archery tournament. Visit the Bhutanese paper factory at work. Evening free for shopping for souvenirs in the shops of Thimphu. Day Four—Thimphu: Day Excursion to Punakha (Sightseeing).
The third day for the 4 Nights 5 Days Bhutan tour package will start with a car drive to Punakha (77 km), a 2 ½ hr car drive via Dochula Pass (3050 m). You will see 108 stupas, which were built by our grand queens. Druk Wangyel Lhakhang is near 108 stupas. If the weather is clear, we stop for a while at Dochula Pass (3050 m) to view the higher Himalayas.
Visit Chimi Lhakhang. The temple is also known as “the Temple of Fertility.” After lunch, visit Punakha Dzong, built in 1637 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal and situated between Pho Chu (Male River) and Mo Chu (Female River). Lunch in Punakha. Evening drive to Thimphu. Overnight in Thimphu.
Day 5: Thimphu-Paro (outbound journey)
The last day of the Bhutan tour package ends. Bhutan Himalayan Holidays representatives will drive you to Paro International Airport for your outbound journey.
